Fog causes 107 traffic accidents in Dubai
Dubai Police receives 1,062 calls between 4 and 9am

Dubai: Dubai Police’s Command and Control room recorded 107 traffic
accidents across Dubai between 4 and 9am on Monday morning due to fog.
It also received 1,062 calls within the same time frame.
Lt.
Colonel Khazraj Majid Al Khazraji, Deputy Director of the Command and
Control room at the Operations Department, said that only one of the
accidents was serious.
He urged motorists to take extra care when
driving in low-visibility conditions, as traffic accidents tend increase
in such conditions.
He added that drivers should ensure that
their car’s windshield and windows and headlights are clean, and that
their indicators are working before driving.
He said drivers
should leave enough distance between their vehicle and the one in front
of them, and reduce their speed in order to stay within the area visible
to them. Lt. Col Al Khazraji said drivers should stick to their lane,
and only switch lanes when necessary.
