The water cascading from the bridge over the Dubai Canal illuminates in spectacular fashion at night

 

 

 

Dubai: As the grand opening ceremony of the Dubai Canal gets underway on Wednesday night, Gulf News takes a closer look at the waterfall, one of the main attractions of the Dh2 billion project.The video shows water cascading from both sides of the Shaikh Zayed bridge over the Dubai Canal.


The sensor-controlled centrepiece of the waterway is activated by 80 pumps and switches off when boats pass through.

With the opening of the three-kilometre Dubai Canal, the Downtown side of Dubai is now turned into an island.Water started flowing into the canal only a few days back and it won’t take long before restaurants, seating facilities, parks and apartments will start taking shape alongside it.
