SHARJAH: The Rescue and First Aid team at Al Montazah Amusement and Water Park in Sharjah rescued a 3-year-old boy from drowning. The boy had walked away from his family.

The victim left the water sports area and took off the life jacket as the family prepared to leave the water park where they had spent a whole day.

The boy slipped into the water of the river downstream of the sports area.

The team dealt professionally and quickly with the case.

They quickly took him out of the water, and provided him with the required first aid, in the presence of his family and a team of the park administration.

They also called the ambulance which arrived on the spot in less than five minutes. The team also followed up the case after it was handed over to Al Qasimi Hospital.

The boy underwent medical care and his heartbeat and breathing are now reported to be stable. However he is unconscious, as a result of the fall and the interruption of oxygen to the brain. He will undergo further medical tests for the evaluation of the condition of his health.

The medical team of the National Ambulance and Al Qasimi Hospital praised the immediate action that was taken by the trained rescue team and the first aid members at Al Montazah Park. The necessary steps that were taken helped prevent deterioration of the child’s situation.

“We pray that the child completes a full recovery from this unfortunate incident. The safety and comfort of our visitors are of our top priority” said Khalid Al Qaseer, Manager of Al Montazah Amusement and Water Park.

“We have dedicated our efforts by allocating multiple security members and life guards to ensure the safety and protection of all visitors and their family members. Similarly, it’s important that families also play a key role in remaining cautious and constantly keeping an eye on their children to avoid any such cases. For this reason we do not allow children under the age of 12 to enter the water park without being accompanied by their parents or a guardian” Qaseer added

“We are in direct contact with the boy’s family and the hospital to ensure receiving the required medication and treatment needed, and to fulfil any needs of the family who came from Oman to visit the country” said Qaseer.
