Refreshed Yaris hits UAE
2017 model Toyota gets seven-speed automatic and more safety features

The refreshed Yaris saloon and hatchback have been launched in the UAE folks, and the big news is that the newbies are packing seven-speed automatic transmissions.
The segment’s first Multi-Drive unit with “shiftmatic” mode for quicker gear changes replace the old four-speed transmissions and the model also now packs much more safety features as standard. These include Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), rear fog lights and Tyre Pressure Monitor System (TPMS). As for power, two engines will be offered for the 2017 model year – a 1.3-litre SE and 1.5-litre SE+ and they should be quieter and more fuel efficient returning 11 per cent and 16 per cent better fuel efficiency respectively.
The price of the 1.3-litre SE hatchback is Dh53,900 and for your outlay you sure do get a lot; the car comes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution, dual front airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), powered door mirrors, rear fog lights and the aforementioned Tyre Pressure Monitor System as standard. Move up to the 1.5-litre SE+ model, and it’ll cost you Dh61,900. This one gets all the above features and standard auto AC, leather-trimmed steering wheel, a six-speaker sound system, smarty entry and push start button, and 15in alloy wheels.
As for the saloon, the SE costs Dh55,900 and includes as standard Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution, dual front airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), powered door mirrors, rear fog lights and Tyre Pressure Monitor System. Moving up to the SE+ will see the addition of the same extras as the hatch and will set you back Dh62,900. Interested? Of course you are! Just form a queue at Al-Futtaim Motors.
